Bhaddanta Nanda Vumsa,
Aggamaha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Sasanadhaja Dhammacariya


Venerable U Nandavumsa was born in (Pyinmana Ela) Lewe Town ship Myanmar ( Burma) on December 26, 1936.

He became a novice monk at the age of ten and he was fully ordained in 1956 . He studied Theravada Buddhism since childhood under several erninent scholar monks in Ela and Nyang Yan Pali University , Mandalay in Myanmar.

In 1961, he passed the highest examination in Pali ,
and Ahbhidhamma the government of Myanmar (Burma) awarded him the degree of Sasanadhaja dhammacariya. He served as a lecturer at the Zeyathein Monastery in Ela, Lewe Township.

In 1975 , he passaed the highest examination traditional medicine. Myanmar .

He has established severel schools (kindergarten to High School), libraries. and also free mediccal clinice for those unable to afford such care. He accomplished Constructing Zeyasiddhi Pagoda in Pyinmana Ela ,Lewe Township ,and Sirinanda Pagoda in Bago Divition, Nyaung Lay Bin Myo Myanmar.

In 1987, he was invited by the Overseas Chinese Theravada Buddhist Temple 0f Taiwan as a resident chief monk,

In 1995, He also received a special invitation from the Burma Buddhist Association of Ontario, Canada as a chief monk.

During his stay in both Taiwan and Canada, He teaches vipassana meditation to monks, novice monks and yogis, He has also given training on hom to read Pali, and also Burmese reading and writing skills during the summer school holidays, the same courses are offered at his own Monastery in Ela, Lewe Township, Myanmar.

at present, he is living in Taiwan and he has given Dhamma talks and Vipassana meditation instructions to the devotees.He is the member of the international Burmese Buddhist Sangha Organization in L.A . U.S.A.

In 2001, government of Myanmar (Burma) awarded him the degree of Aggamaha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja.
